UTILITY SCOUT ATTACK (USA) HELICOPTER WEAPONS TEAM INTRODUCTION

In October 1995, the TACOM - RI (U.S. Army Tank automotive and Armaments Command - Rock Island) reorganized from a functional structure into commodity-oriented product centers/groups/teams. This precis introduces the TACOM-RI USA Helicopter Weapons Team (AMSTA-LC-CSAU) associates and provides a brief description of associated aircraft armament subsystems and equipment that remains active in the U.S. Army inventory.

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the USA Helicopter Weapons Team, are dedicated to providing customer-focused logistics support for aircraft weaponry.

GOAL

The USA team's goal is always to provide soldiers the highest quality material for the defense of the United States of America.

USA TEAM MISSIONS

USA team missions range from fielding and sustainment of sophisticated weapon systems for Cobra and Kiowa Warrior helilcopters, to developing and disseminating changes to operator and maintainer technical manuals (TMs), to acquiring and distributing repair parts and special tools.

We provide resources from major end items, repair parts, TMs, equipment upgrades, as well as people to evaluate and develop solutions to support customer inquiries through responses to DA Forms 2028, Quality Deficiency Reports, Suggestions, Supply & Maintenance Assessment & Review Team (SMART) Initiatives, Logistic Assistance Representative (LAR) reports, Soldier Letters, and telephone inquiries.

By interfacing with the Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) design engineers, the USA team helps to develop equipment modifications through information provided by the user.
